Frequent questions when repairing a HMI
Do I need to include the memory card / hard drive when sending my repair?
You don’t need to send the memory card or hard drive; however, we strongly recommend that you include it with your repair.
When we have the memory card, we can check the program for defects that may cause your unit to be inoperable, perform additional testing, Create a backup file, Calibration of the touch screen and many other features.
While including the memory card is not necessary, including it will give us the ability to simulate your environment in our lab to ensure so you can easily plug and play your unit when it arrives back at your facility.
Should I upgrade my CRT to LCD?
Yes, generally we do recommend upgrading to an LCD screen. LCD panels have a lot of benefits over the old CRT displays. They tend to be more reliable, brighter, better color accuracy, easier to see, lighter and more power efficient.
CRT’s are very difficult to find in todays market. When they fail, replacement parts may be difficult to obtain. Because of parts availability, power efficiency and the convince of LCD screens we always recommend upgrading to a LCD when given the opportunity.
